The Co-Inpetto’s story started in 1999. It was founded as a commercial company in the recruitment business. In that sector, commercial parties required a license to operate; knowledge of Belgian privacy law was a component of our accreditation.
From the very beginning, Co-Inpetto has treated the correct application of privacy law as a cornerstone of process excellence—and a source of inspiration for collaborative innovation, working together with clients and IT providers. That innovation naturally extended into the realm of redesign of business models, where we saw that real change required more than new tools or technologies: it required a shift in culture, innovation frameworks, ownership logic, asset classes, and governance. That’s why Co-Inpetto became part of a movement, not least because Big Tech started to threaten the societal values that were foundational for entrepreneurship and empowerment.
At Co-Inpetto, we have always believed that the renewal of business models thanks to digital can contribute to sustainable prosperity. Nowadays, Co-Inpetto brings that vision into practice with Co-Inpetto Farm and Co-Inpetto Design.
With Co-Inpetto Design, we initiate projects that generate social, ecological, and financial benefits while contributing to the rollout of a sovereign digital infrastructure. Each project is co-created by a group of contributors—individuals with their own data, wallets, and creativity, alongside companies and organizations. Together, they innovate and design business models and agree on how income is distributed among all participants.
It is the role of Co-Inpetto to act as a mission guardian for Co-Inpetto Design projects—to protect the specific multi-profit purpose of each different project and to accelerate innovation grounded in clear, trust-based agreements. The previous commercial activities of Co-Inpetto are now part of a commercial entity that participates, alongside other parties, in various projects. Co-Inpetto will soon become a Belgian VZW.
